Kide Science Partners with San Jorge School in Mexico

Kide Science is launching in Mexico with the international San Jorge School, where classes are taught in English. The Kide Science program will start in August, led by teachers with children ages 3-8.

San Jorge School teachers tested the Kide Science platform for a month before deciding to expand their use. That boosted teachers' skills and confidence in using the playful approach in STEAM education. They found it motivating for children to use their imagination to solve problems from the engaging story world.

“One of the main reasons why our pedagogical team decided to incorporate Kide Science into our STEAM curriculum was because of its beautiful and transparent learning process,” said Jorge Almanza, the Director of the San Jorge School. “We were looking for a modern, science skill-based learning program for children to investigate real life situations. When we found out that it was a science program from Finland, we literally said: ‘This is a perfect fit for our institution.’”

"Our innovative academic program goes beyond learning core school subjects. Our students will excel in the development of cognitive, social and emotional skills. That is why we are delighted to start this research-based program that supports all of those skills, not only science process skills," Almanza said.

Kide Science supports teachers with story-based, hands-on STEAM lesson plans for 3-8 year olds, and online training in play-based pedagogy. With holistic support, teachers can focus on working with the children to provide wondrous hands-on science experiences in a classroom, remotely or in a hybrid model during school closures.

Sari Hurme-Mehtälä, CEO of Kide Science, says: "We are so excited to expand our mission to Mexico. This forward-thinking school thinks the same way that we do about the importance of using a playful approach, and they recognize the need for social and environmental responsibility, as well as critical thinking skills."
