Kide Science Partners with Nordic International School in Peru

Kide Science has partnered with the Nordic International School of Lima to promote STEAM subjects and science process skills in Peruvian early childhood education.

“It is estimated that 90% of future jobs will require STEAM skills (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics). With this in mind, we have partnered with a research-based Finnish company, Kide Science, to offer our children the opportunity to explore the phenomena of the natural world in a playful way, motivating them to continue learning throughout life,” says Maria Ruuskanen, School Director of the Nordic International School of Lima.

Our team is excited to engage young children in Peru for STEAM learning. “We invite young scientists to solve fascinating problems by stepping into an imaginary science scenario - the fantasy world called Supraland. To empower children to become active agents in their learning, children must play the role of a scientist and solve real problems,” says Sari Hurme-Mehtälä, CEO of Kide Science.

The Nordic International School of Lima seeks to bring the best of the Nordic educational model to Latin America, with an aim to develop fairer, more sustainable, and more innovative societies. School Director Maria Ruuskanen is a university lecturer in the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas and specializes in education policy, international development, and educational leadership. The Kide Science program will be available to students at the Nordic International School of Lima from March 2021 when they launch their early childhood programs.
